What is MDF Jumpering?

MDF jumpering is required when a new ADSL/VDSL line has been tagged at the MDF in an apartment complex or office block by Telstra/NBN. Telstra/NBN owns the copper and fibre network and connects new ADSL/VDSL services from the ISP (Internet Service Provider) DSLAM in the Exchange to the customers MDF.

Sometimes the line will work if connected properly to the right pair on the A side. If not, you need the MDF Jumpering from A side to B side. That’s when MDFMAN is required to jumper this to a socket within the apartment. Also sometimes you may have a problem with the internal wiring from your unit to the MDF. This can be fixed by the MDFMAN.
